A song for Glee. It sort of hurt, knowing that it would be one of the last performances she would ever do for the group. It was even more oddly appropriate that she was doing it with Finn, the first person she’d ever sang with in Glee Club. Their first rehearsal seemed so far away now. Which was good, because halfway through she’d had to make a beeline to the bathroom with morning sickness. That was something she’d been hoping to leave out of her ‘fond memories’. Either way, it was scary, the thought of leaving Glee Club, leaving all these people who she’d grown with, who’d grown with her. It was scary to be leaving Lima for Yale, it really was, but she hated the thought of being stuck here forever. Quinn was more than just a small town girl forever, wasn’t she? Right? Was that what she was? No. Of course not. She’d believed that for far too long.
The auditorium looked the same as it always had, and today’s purpose was to meet Finn and discuss a song to do for the group. She was the first one there, which could be expected, and she sat on the edge of the stage, swinging her legs, wondering how on earth McKinley had been able to afford such a large and nice auditorium. An auditorium that was hardly used, for that matter. Two years ago, she would have never imagined being in this place with Finn, she wouldn’t have even considered this scenario. She used to always think that she’d grow up, she’d marry Finn, they’d have kids, and they’d both be stuck in Lima forever. Quinn was glad she realized how completely wrong she’d been about that.
Her eyes scanned the auditorium again, and this time they finally caught sight of Finn’s tall figure appearing in from the doorway. “Hey!” she called, waving at him from her seat on the stage, “Take your time getting here?” she joked slightly at his somewhat late arrival. “Don’t tell me - you and Santana got held up,” she added, a slight smirk making it’s way onto her lips. “Anyway, I guess we should come up with a song or something.”
The last few months had been rough on Finn, with not knowing what to do with his life and future and going from every possibility in the book to finally knowing what he wanted to do. There had been fights, and tears but he had made it through with the help of his friends, Quinn being one of them. Whether it was just by verbal support the girl had always been there for him and he would for her. Finn grinned as he turned the last corner before pushing the auditorium doors open and making out her figure sitting on the side of the stage.
He was almost completely sure Sam would have told Quinn about his future plans, but then again, she never said anything to him about it so he wasn’t quite positive. All he could hope for was she wouldn’t go off and hit him when he got within reaching distance. He hesitantly took the last few steps that separated them and greeted her with a smile. “Hey Quinnie.” He began before huffing loudly. “I wasn’t even with Santana this time.” He pouted but it quickly was replaced with a smirk as he hopped up onto the stage beside her and nudged her gently with his shoulder.
The broad range of possibilities for this weeks glee assignment was confusing for him. It was rare that there was really no theme at all that they had to sing about so he was a little lost on which one to pick. There was so many great songs out there, how were they supposed to only pick one? They were running out of time before graduation, and he wanted to do them all. “Yeah about that..” Finn started. “I really have no clue on what song to pick, did you have any ideas?”
Taking all the jewellery off and loosely handing it over to the man, Sam rushed over to Finn and looked at the ring he was admiring. “Whoa. It’s really pretty. I could totally see Santana wearing that.” Sam nodded in approval, looking at the ring at all different angles. “To be honest if you proposed to me holding that i’d say yes.” he laughed before stopping to look at Finn. “What now? You aren’t leaving the country on me are you, dude?” Sam laughed in anticipation. “Over the past three days you’ve dropped so many bombs, I’ve just run out of different ways to react. What’s going on?”
Finn chuckled and glanced over at his best friend. “Nah dude, not moving out of the country. You’re stuck with me for a little while longer at least.” He laughed and nudged the blonde boy’s shoulder with his own, returning to admiring the ring. “Isn’t it though? I think she’d really like that one.” He gestured towards the man behind the counter and pointed out the ring. As the employee went to get the keys to remove it from the case so Finn could get a better look at it, he turned towards Sam and frowned. “It’s nothing serious, don’t over react.” He fidgeted with his hands, slightly nervous for some, unexplainable reason. “I mean it’s kind of a given, considering you are my best friend, but it’s still tradition to actually ask you.” He shrugged and smirked slightly. “Would you do me the honor of being my best man?” He asked, rocking back on his heels slightly as he smiled and waited for a response.

“Sure sure.” Sam laughed and rolled his eyes. Looking around the jewellery shop, Sam walked over to the really expensive watches and his eyes widened. “Dude, did you know that these are the kinds that celebrities buy? Man it’d be cool to own one of these things.” Sam then heard a voice that didn’t belong to his best friend and looked up to see an old, fancy man in a suit smiling at him. “Huh?” Sam asked, not catching what the man said. “I said, would you like to try some on. You’re a potential buyer right?”.. Sam paused.. “Yeah I am. I have a um, credit card I want to spend with.” he lied. Holding out his arms. “Put all the gold ones on my left and all the silver ones on my right.” he examined the old man before putting on a rich, British accent. “Wilfred.” Sam grinned. It didn’t take long for Sam to be covered in watches, rings, necklaces and even some fancy crown on top. After about ten minutes of pretending to examine the jewellery, Sam turned around and laughed like a dork. “Hey Finn, check out my bling!” Stopping again, he noticed Wilfred had an eyebrow raised towards Sam, like he was questioning the boy. “Urh. I mean, Finn - man. I request your attention towards the shiny metal that’s on my wrist.” Wilfred nodded in approval and went back to doing something Sam didn’t understand. “Found anything yet?!”
Finn browsed the selections alone since, as predicted, Sam had abandoned him at first sight of shiny objects. As usual. He eventually found one that seemed to be one that Santana would like, and to be honest, he thought it was pretty awesome as well. Suddenly his name was called out and he spun around, immediately bursting out in laughter at the sight of his best friend. “Sam. Dude.” He got out between laughs as he made his way over to the smaller boy. “You’re gonna get us kicked out of here.” He added, semi seriously but still unable to stop laughing. “The shiny metal on your wrist is awesome, but I really need your help with this.” He grinned and shook his head at Sam’s antics.
He made his way back over to the case with the possible purchase within it. “Come look at this one.” He waved Sam over, pointing out the one he was thinking about. There was silence for a few seconds before Finn straightened suddenly. “Sam.. There’s something I need to talk to you about.” He rushed out.

Looking through her closet, Santana found herself attempting to find something to wear for her night with Finn. He had told her not to wear anything fancy, so a dress and heels was out of the question. After spotting a pair of her favourite jeans, she found a nice long sleeved v-neck shirt. After slipping socks onto her feet, she placed her feet into sneakers that matched the colour of her shirt. Going to her bathroom, Santana stared at her hair. Straightening the shoulder length hair was going to be a hassle, deciding on just leaving it naturally wavy, she placed a white headband in her hair. Next came the make up, Santana had a feeling tonight wasn’t going to be over the top. Only putting on minimal make up, she used eyeliner and mascara to bring out her eyes a bit. She smiled at the thought of Finn looking into her eyes, he had always said he liked them even when she didn’t.
Going back into her room, Santana made sure she had both her phone and keys on her, unsure of what time she was coming home. Or if she was coming home tonight, sometimes when the two of them got together, they did things on the spot. Either way it never really mattered, Santana enjoyed spending her time with Finn. Now that she was done, Santana looked at the finished product. Casual outfit, minimal make up, and easy hair. Everything was perfect. Now all she needed was the boy.
Finn had been nervous the entire day, his entire body feeling jittery but weighted down at the same time. He wasted the time away playing video games with Sam until the time came. He jumped up immediately, tossing the controller down, which caused him to get a strange look from Sam. “Sorry dude, going out with Santana.” Sam shook his head and gave Finn a knowing look before Finn bolted from the room.
He dressed quickly in a pair of nice jeans and a black polo shirt, then pulled on a pair of shoes and grabbed the necessary items for the night. One quick look in the mirror told him he was ready but also showed the flustered look that was apparently permanently stuck on his face. He frowned but had to shrug it off, today was not the day to be late.
The drive to Santana’s went quicker then usual, maybe it was because he wasn’t actually focusing on it. Suddenly he was outside her door, hand poised to knock, and his heart thudding rapidly against his chest. His hand rapped against the door three times before he stepped back, listening to the pounding of his heart.
↳ Day 04 - Pregnancy/Babies/Family · Quinn and Puck get into a car crash, leaving Finn and Santana to have to attempt and be a family for Beth. Partially inspired by the lovely Stephanie and the movie Life As We Know It.
